Subject: GCCMail: Strays ride the Wildflower Ride in the Evinston area Sunday May 3, 8:1 5 am

Todays Strays ride was well attended and enjoyed by all, Mebane was fun as always. Because the wildflowers are clearly in profusion up here near Lacrosse its time for one of the most popular Strays rides
 
Sunday May 3, Strays will ride the nearly annual Wildflower Ride. About 32 miles in the Evinston, Micanopy, McIntosh, Boardman, Flemington, River Styx area. For those interested there will be extra mileage, up to 30 miles
 
Arrive in Flemington at 8:15 to depart at 8:30 am.
 
Speed 2.5 - 46 mph, depending on terrain. Average speed has typically been 12 - 14 mph in recent times. This ride is largely flat or gently rolling terrain, but there will be some hills.
 
There will be two convenience store / restroom stops.
 
Post ride the hungry will head to Blue Highway for a late lunch.
 
No pace lines, no racing, no wheel sucking, just a fun social ride.
 
Helmets are REQUIRED on all Strays rides, mirrors recommended, headphones forbidden.
 
Safety  protocols  are  always  observed on Strays rides

To get to the park in Flemington from Gainesville:
Head down 441 or I-75 to Micanopy. Exit to Angle Road 234 and follow it south until it becomes 329 in Marion county. Stay on 329  past the intersection of 320. The park will be on the right about a half mile before you arrive at the intersection of 318. About 9 miles from Micanopy to Flemington.
