The Saddle Tramps
will ride
Monday, July
4th,
from
Micanopy on a route of about
35 miles.
The Independence Day Parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. along Cholokka
Boulevard (main street) so we will park in a
new area, across from the
Tuscawilla Preserve at the parking lot for the Interpretive Center.
To reach our
new parking
area, drive to the end of Cholokka Blvd., past the shops of downtown
Micanopy, past the trees where we normally park, and at the point where
the road appears to end, go left down the street about one-half (½)
mile. Look for the parking area on the left hand side of the
street. Meet there
at 7:15 a.m. for a 7:30 a.m. departure. We should be early enough to
avoid roads being blocked off for the parade.
We'll reverse our usual route to Boardman and Orange Lake, then
travel through McIntosh going west on 320 to Flemington (where there are
bathrooms), and a nearby Geedunk (small convenience store). From
there we'll head to the "Zebra" Road, east on 320 and north back to
Micanopy on 329/234 where the eagerly anticipated Independence Day Parade
will soon begin.
