This week’s ride info:

Day: Saturday, February, 17, 2012

Time: 9:00 am meeting, 9:15 am departure (Special Weather Note: The Weather Channel is showing right now a 30% chance of rain for Saturday morning after a 50% chance overnight; so it all depends on whether the rain gets through the area overnight, or if those guys are off a little on their timing…can’t imagine that! I will post a follow up e-mail regarding the weather if the ride needs to be cancelled on Friday night if it is obvious then or Saturday morning by 8:00am at the latest if it is wait and see; or the old standby; go outside, look up and guess whether if it’s raining here, is it raining on the ride route?)

It looks like a good ride to me, so if by chance we get rained out this Saturday, we’ll do this route next Saturday.

Meeting Place: Micanopy, in downtown at the end of the street where we usually meet.

Route and Mileage: We will do a route heading south to then turn to go to Evinston, then out to the Boardman Peninsula, then returning to 441 and south to below McIntosh to Martin , south or Reddick and Lowell. Total ride distance is about 45 miles. There are some cut throughs for anyone who wishes to make it a shorter ride.  http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/fullscreen/69442924/

Pace: The HighBees ride pace is about 17-18 MPH. This is a friendly, no drop ride; we re-group at all turns when needed.

Membership Requirements: Please note that HighBee rides are open to all GCC members who wish to participate. Those that are non-members may ride with the group as a guest of a sponsoring member once without being required to be a member.
