On Sunday, November 22, there will be an offroad ride at the Boyette (see info at: http://www.swampclub.org/boyette/). The Boyette Scrub Preserve is approximately 10 miles from Alafia River State Park (another well known mtn biking area), east of I-75, a bit south of Tampa. These trails are loads of fun and very well maintained, with something for everyone! Its a beautiful preserve with numerous lakes and shady trails in the woods as well as some open meadow riding opportunities.

The plan is to meet at Boyette at approximately 12noon (I will be at Alafia during the morning hours to photograph trail running races). If you are interested in joining this ride, please email me ahead of time so I know who to look for in the parking area. Be sure to bring plenty of water as the facilities at the trailhead are limited and do not include running water. You may want to print up a trail map from the swamp club web site, these are not always available at the trailhead and a map is quite handy to navigate the numerous trails. There is a Panera nearby for post-ride food if anyone is interested too.

As a side note, I also plan on a short trail run after the ride - anyone wanting to join me for a run, be sure to bring appropriate gear (shoes, hydration pack, etc).

I plan on posting rides for San Felasco and Santos over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Note: There will be a mountain bike race at San Felasco on Nov 29, see goneriding.com for more information.
