The Beginner Group will ride on the eastern half of the Gainesville
Hawthorne Trail on Saturday, June 19. The Group should meet at the
Rochelle parking lot at 8:15 a.m. for a 8:30 start.
The ride will be on a paved bike trail (Gainesville/Hawthorne Trail)
with no automobiles, and is good for riders of all abilities and
ages. The GH Trail is perfect for families with children.
The ride will be chaperoned by the ride leader who will ride at the
back of the group to make sure no one gets lost. The ride leader is
also a bicycle mechanic who can help fix flat tires and help with any other
mechanical problems.
Directions to Rochelle parking lot: From
Gainesville: Go east on State Road 20 (Hawthorne
Road). 1/4 mile after the Prairie Creek bridge, take County Road 2082
to the right. The Rochelle parking lot is at the intersection of
CR 2082 and CR 234.
From Micanopy: Take County Road 234 east (a left turn
if you are going south on US 441). The Rochelle parking lot is at the
intersection of CR 2082 and CR 234.
