As you know there is conflicting research out there about cyclists...particularly aging yet incredibly fit cyclists...like most of us are, right?  This mountain of research varies from full blown nearly unreadable papers to "digested" research that is conflicted, alarmist, &/or inaccurate.  They just do not know what to do with this aging superfit cohort from ~50-70...but they will as our numbers swell.

A guy out front on this that does a great job of "filtering" then posting what is considered quality research on his FREE site (above) is Dr. Gabe Mirkin...a name I bet most of you already know.

Try it...do not like it, delete it.  Reply?  Please, do NOT do it across the whole GCC listserve...reply here to me personally.

BTW: RoadBikeRider.com has a free newsletter as well...most of you know of it...but if you have never seen it, google it...subscribe as you wish.  They often quote Dr. M with good cycling health advice and research updates.

I have no affiliation with any of this...they are just handy sites for quick information to stay current or to answer cycling/health questions as they arise...as they have recently.

I'm up to 15 miles in an hour at 105 bpm....today is #40.  See some of you on Sunday...get me on the hills while you can...I'll be crawling up them...Bob Howland
