For those of you on the A-Ride this morning, thank you for not totally flipping out during the incident today at the end of the ride. After GPD came out to keep the peace, and the Sheriff’s Office telling us to wait on the Highway patrol, Marc and I finally were released around 1.45 pm . The driver was eventually charged by the Highway Patrol Officer for reckless driving, will have to pay a fine and attend a driver’s education class.

 

It may not be the end of this story as the driver demanded restitution for the damage on his car and stated he may do so in court.

 

Thanks again for all keeping your cool (?). I would hate to see this mix of Cuban’s, American’s, Italian’s, Belgian’s and Mexican’s get really mad. (I probably left out a few nationalities). This driver was a brave soul in wanting to take on all of us (24 in total). We were milliseconds away from this incident escalating into an assault. Thanks again for keeping your cool in the midst of this unfortunate incident.
