Registration is open for the Gainesville Cycling Festival.  Dates this year are October 23 and 24 (you can always find these dates on the top of the last page in the newsletter). 

 

If you are planning on volunteering at the Festival, please wait until we have you assigned to a slot before registering; your free goodies are tied to that slot.  You’ll know you are assigned when your position is listed in the Volunteer block in the Members Area.  Check out the Festival Volunteer page for information on what is available.  Reply or call me at 378-7063 to volunteer.

 

When you are ready to register, there is an express link for you in the Members Only block in the Members Area.

 

We are having meetings on Saturday (August 21) for persons who are interested in filling top level positions for the Festival. 

 

We will need a couple of new Aid Stop (“rest stop”) Crew Chiefs this year, plus we’re looking for someone to coordinate the trucks.  If you think you can help us with one of these jobs, please RSVP for the 5 pm Aid Staff meeting (in the Volunteer block in the Members Area).

 

We’re still forming our Course staff, who are responsible for the Santa Fe Century and Horse Farm Hundred routes, including painting arrows, placing signs, arranging police protection, and directing SAG drivers.  We anticipate needing a couple of new people to get involved with this function.  If you are interested, please RSVP for the 7 pm Course Staff meeting (in the Volunteer block in the Members Area).  (This is not the meeting for persons who will volunteer to drive SAG during the events.)

 

Dinner will be served at 6 pm for attendees of both meetings.
