To all HighBees and those that would like to ride with us:

 

There is good news and some bad news. Looks like we are getting a break from the cold weather (the good news), but the forecast is for 80% chance of rain on Saturday (the bad news). I am posting the ride in spite of that and hoping for the best. I will continue to check the forecast and send out an update on the ride later in the week. Everyone keep thinking, “No Rain!!”

 

Day: Saturday, January 16^th

 

Time: 9:45 am meeting, 10:00 am departure

 

Meeting Place: Chevron Station, on the corner of NW 43^rd St and NW 53^rd Ave.

 

Route and Mileage: We will ride the short version (35 miles) of the Monteocha Rides; going out to Hague, to Monteocha, to Lacrosse (rest stop), then Hague and back to the beginning point. Note: This week’s ride is a little shorter since we haven’t ridden in a couple of weeks or so due to the cold weather.

 

Speed: HighBee rides are typically16-17 MPH average. This is a no drop ride; we re-group at all turns.

 

If you are new to GCC and are looking for a weekly ride with a moderate (16-17 MPH Ave.) and moderate distance (Usually 40-45 miles), please feel free to join us.

 

Membership Requirements: Please note that HighBee rides are open to all GCC members who wish to participate. Those that are non-members may ride with the group as a guest of a sponsoring member once without being required to be a member.

 

On a separate note, it has been suggested by Roger Peirce that the HighBees all sign up as HighBees on the website, so that we can communicate through the website as opposed to using GCC Mail going to the whole club. That is all fine and dandy, but it will get the message to those that are not registered as HighBees, but would like to join one of our rides. If you are a HighBee or think you might at least try a HighBee ride or ride with us occasionally you can register as an occasional rider.
