I've never been able to loosen cleat screws on
cleats I've walked on except MTB cleats after I use a dental tool to remove
the
packed dirt. Two things happen: the tool hole is smeared over
the screw rounds out
Try this. Drill a starter hole in the screw
head,
about 1/8th inch dia.
Use a drill bit slightly larger than the
threaded
part and drill the head off.
Remove the threaded stubs with a pair of
pliers.
They are not tight in the shoe.
The screw is ruined, new screws come with new
cleats, or Zells Hdw. has a good selection of metric screws.
