Not to take away from the very good deals offered by local business, the internetz seem to be high on the Magicshine lights with regard to bang-to-buck ratio.  For about $100 you get 900 lumens on high, 200 on low setting (3h or 6h burn time), though you have to deal with a cable to a separate battery pack.  One online source is:

It's prevalent on eBay too.  However, I believe it is made in China (if like me you prefer to buy as few things as necessary, due to political and/or quality issues, from that country).
