Hi to all Pedalers/Hokey Pokies,

 

Meet at the Hawthorne end of the Gainesville-Hawthorne  Trail.  I plan to leave at 9am, probably doing about 20 miles at 12-13 mph.  I will also do some weeding and pruning at the Hawthorne Trailhead after my ride.  These sweaty activities will be followed by lunch at PJs on 301 north of the Highway 20 overpass.

 

Please RSVP so I’ll know you’re coming.

Hawthorne Trailhead Ride Start Location

  • http://gccfla.org/gif/locs/hawthorne.jpgFrom Gainesville, go west on SR 20 to Hawthorne.
  • Take the exit for US 301, but just before US 301, turn right onto SE 221st Street, aka Johnson Street (the main drag through Hawthorne).
  • Go through the four way stop, and take the next right onto SE 71st Ave, aka SE 2nd Ave (if you cross the railroad tracks you have overshot).
  • There will be a sign announcing the Gainesville Hawthorne Trail on the left about a block in.
  • Turn left to go to the trailhead parking lot.
