There will be two opportunities to help needy people with bike repair this week.
**************************************************************************************************
On Friday, Feb 4 there will be a "Standdown" for homeless veterans at the Army Reserve center, 1125 NE 8th Avenue.  The event is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes a great barbecue lunch.

The event will have many service providers, including the Veterans Administration and the Red Cross, will offer medical screening, dental care, and other social services to homeless veterans.  All veterans are invited.

Chandler will be there to help veterans with their bicycles.  I can always use help, especially adult supervision.   Even if you don't know anything about bike mechanics, you can help by pumping up tires and greeting our customers.     If you want to bring any used (or new) bike parts, that would be good.  Tires and tubes are always needed, and rear wheels are often usefull.

Please e-mail me if you can help.

On Saturday, Feb. 5, there will be a bike repair event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Civic Media Center, 433 South Main Street.   This event will have about 20 donated bikes that need repair.  These bikes will be given to deserving people by a non-profit group.

This event will have help from The Kickstand and the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board, so we will have some help, but extra hands are always welcome.

Chandler will be there and can always use help, plus I always need adult supervision.

If you have questions, please E-mail me.
