To all Pedalers/Hokey Pokies,

I will be riding from Fanning Springs to Chiefland on the Nature Coast Trail on Sat, July 16th.  I hope to leave around 8:30 after unloading the GCC picnic supplies.  I’d appreciate any help in setting up at Pavilion #1.  Total  distance is 20 miles, pace will 12-13 mph.

Any questions, call 378-7063 or my cell 339-1920.

Diann Dimitri

Pedalers group captain

If you haven’t  RSVPed yet, please do so now so we have an accurate count.

All GCC members should remember that Saturday, July 16 is a picnic at Fanning Springs Sate Park.  The park is next to a beautiful rail-trail, has excellent swimming and we will have a bunch of CHICKEN!

This one of the best opportunities to introduce friends and family members to the joy of cycling.  The Nature Coast Trail is a rail-trail (no cars) so it is safe and scenic.   Please bring anyone who may be interested in cycling with the club, and invite them to join us for food and fellowship (CHICKEN!).

The Hokey Pokies may want to join Diann's group (the Pedalers) or you can ride on your own, it's hard to get lost on a rail-trail.   Chandler will be at Fanning Springs to air tires and do safety checks on bikes.

Riders are reminded to bring a side dish such as a salad or desert to round out the feast.  You should also RSVP on the GCC website, that way we know how much chicken and vegie lasagna to bring.

Directions to Fanning Springs Trailhead/Park:  Go west on State Road 26 (University Avenue, Newberry Road) and go through Newberry and then to Trenton.  Continue straight on SR 26 to Fanning Springs.  At Fanning Springs  turn right (west) on US 19/98.

The Fanning Springs trailhead parking lot is 1/4 mile on the right.

The Park is another 1/4 mile on the left.  Entry fees are $4 per car(one persons) or $6 per car(up to 8 passengers) and $2 for bikes and pedestrians.
