Trendsetters,
Shortly, we will begin the working person's
Night time cross bike rides from the North side of town. For the
first month, we will ride tempo pace as a wind down to the 2011
season. For those looking to start 2012 off right, the first month is
a good time to join us.
Remember, this is an A level ride. When we begin intervals and
such, your ability to suffer and handling skills on dirt roads will be
tested :)
Equipment suggestions:
1 x Cyclo Cross Bike - an
MTB will do, but slicker tyres would be preferable. Ask Victor Alber
or Martin Cox about MTB advice.
1 x Decent set of lights, at least 500 lumens on the front of the bike,
but more is better. I suggest supporting friendly local stores like
Bikes and More, Super Cool Bike Shop or Bike Works for your
lighting needs. You're also welcome to contact me for info on
light suggestions, home made LED lights, etc. A nice set of
taillights is equally as important.
1 x Ability to have fun, because these rides are bloody
awesome!
1 x Set of warmer clothing for dealing with the colder
winter months. Kit such as arm warmers, knee warmers, warm gloves,
base layers, and even thermal jackets will be handy.
