Club,
Join us as we kick off the 2012 season of Developers
teaching rides. My wordy "History and Philosophy" of the
Developers ride is here
. The short version, for new members, is that we teach you one on
one how to ride safe in a group and draft.
Meet noon, Thursday, Bike Works parking lot, Tioga Town
Center.
Leave 12:10 p.m.
Ride for about 1.5 hours at 17-19 mph
We
do not ride under 45 degrees.
We start the season at about 17-19
mph, no drop rules strictly enforced. We did notice that last season
a lot of our "new" and "B" level riders got quite fast
by late summer and fall, so we invented some clever "hare and
hound" scenarios to keep the hot riders hot, but we always have a
steady moving "Developers" group no matter what shenanigans are
in play. We found that a lot of people who didn't want to
"race" actually enjoyed the competitive tactical sessions, so you
should check it out!
I'm hoping the warmer start time will bring out more people than
the late time cancels. We'll see.
