Hello All,

Each year, GCC collects children's  bicycles to give to  Gainesville Police Department school resource officers, that will be given to deserving children.

In particular, we need any bikes with 20" wheels (for elementary school kids), bikes with 24 " wheels (for midddle school kids)   and any size Cruiser type bikes (bikes with one-speed and a coaster (foot ) brake, some people call these beach cruisers.

While enjoying Thanksgiving dinner,  you may want to discuss what to get your family for Christmas.  If new bikes are on the list, please consider donating your old bikes to this cause.   If you need to wait until after the holidays, we will still be collecting bikes after New Years.

I can come and pick up bikes anytime that is convenient for you, e-mail me at chanbike@xxxxxxx or call me at (352) 215-4247.

If you want to drop a bike off at Bikes and More, 2133 NW 6th Street,  373-6574,  please call me or e-mail me so I can pick it up,  We have limited storage space , so I would need to pick them up immediately.

One idea would be to visit yard sales and thrift stores and purchasing a kid bike to donate.

A tentative plan is to have workdays to help clean and repair bikes, this would be Thursdays and Fridays Dec. 1, 2,  8 and 9.

Let me know if you have a bike to donate.

If you have questions, please E-mail me.
