NASA has scheduled a launch of a space shuttle on Monday, May 11 at
2:01 p.m.
If the sky is clear, we will be able to see the shuttle for about one
minute or so, to the southeast. It takes about 30 seconds to one
minute after launch for the shuttle to become visible above the
horizon.
Paynes Prairie, Newnans Lake and the top of tall buildings are good
places to watch a launch.
In the past I have ridden my bike to Newnan's Lake to watch
launches. If you are out riding on Monday, you may want to
pause to observe the shuttle.
