This week’s ride info:
Please note that I will not be
posting
the usual Saturday ride this week as I will be out of town that day. If
there
is anyone who wishes to post a HighBee paced ride for Saturday, please feel
free to do so. Day: Sunday, April 24th. I
realize
that it is Easter Sunday, but hopefully there will be a group of riders who
are
interested participating. Time: 8:00am meeting, 8:15
departure
Meeting Place: The Lodge at Dylan’s Grove; Special Note: Following the ride we’ll be having lunch
and
swim in the pool for those how wish to partake (in either or both, the
lunch
and swim). Please bring a sandwich or something else to eat and soft drink
or
beer in a cooler which you can leave at The Lodge before we ride.
We’ll
be providing ice cream and other desert. So that we’ll know how much
ice
cream and desert to get, please RSVP by replying to this e-mail and as
mentioned above I’ll send you a gate code when you do.
Route
and Mileage:
We will do the Bronson Ride which is 46 miles. We’ll head out of
Dylan’s
Grove, turn right on SW 15th Ave to SW 170th St, south to SW 46th Ave,
right to
CR 337, left to Bronson, right on US 27A then left on CR 335 and left on CR
241
up to Archer and continuing to SW 15th Ave, turning left and returning to
Dylan’s
Grove. Pace: The HighBees ride pace is
about
17-18 MPH. This is a friendly, no drop ride; we re-group at all turns when
needed and soft pedal when someone is being dropped.
If you are new to GCC and are looking for a weekly
ride
with a moderate pace and moderate distance, please feel free to join us.
A word about pace and dropping riders. Our typical
riding
pace is about 17-18 MPH. Please try to maintain the integrity of the group
during the ride. If you see that you are getting dropped, please speak up
and
say something before you are dropped off the back end where no one can hear
you. Complaining about it later does no good. If you are riding near the
back
of the ride and see someone being dropped please pass it forward. With a
good
size group it is hard for the leader to see what is happening in the back
sometimes. If someone lets you know they are being dropped, please pass it
up.
In such event we’ll stop if necessary, but hopefully be able to soft
pedal
for a bit allowing the dropped rider to get back on. The main object of the
ride is to have fun and a good work out; so let’s all try to do that.
Any problems feel free to call my cell,
665-6100.
