About the

Helmets are required on all GCC Rides. Expect mileage to be in the 50-70+ range with one rest stop. Routes are determined prior to the ride depending on which way the wind is blowing and who shows up. Routes are agreed upon by consensus the morning of and may change en route. Speed is consistent 20 + mph during the ride. With surges exceeding 25 mph (and sometimes 30 mph). A- Riders do respect all road safety rules, but do not respect a specific speed limit, especially after the rest stop.  We will often regroup at major intersections before the rest stop, but not necessarily after the rest stop.  Ken will often attack for no reason, Rob will not be able to resist storming up every hill, Jayson will tell everyone how bad his legs feel right before he'll launch a five mile solo effort, Huan will say he's not that strong then try to go for the sprint, Kerry will tell us the ride will have reasonable stops (reasonable being one stop at the 80 mile mark), Chris & Ryan will be happy to tow everyone around at 25mph, you'll almost forget that Darryl is on the ride until he passes you in the final sprint, Lambert will have something cheeky up his sleeve, Derek will pull so hard that you'll be in agony, but he's such a nice guy you'll apologize to him for having to put you through that, and Shannon will launch a brutal attack after everyone is already tired from beating up on each other.  This is just the way it is, it's nothing personal.

NORTHERN ROUTES: Meet:

At the Chevron station @ NW 43rd St and 53rd Ave (Hunters Crossing and Millhopper Road)

PARK: In along NW 43rd St. Start at the north end and work south. Do not park in the slots alongside the station or along NW 53rd Ave. DO NOT use the business lots east of the Chevron on Saturdays. Overflow parking is along the short east-west street south of the station. Please watch where you are standing; do not block the flow of traffic going to the pumps.

SOUTHERN ROUTES:

MEET: At the "Kangaroo (formerly Le Store)" on the NW corner of SW 34 th St and Williston Road.

PARK: At the end of SW 47th Ave just east of 34th Street across from the big Post Office. Please do not loiter in the parking area. Parking also may be available at the south end of the Publix parking lot. If you park in the Publix parking lot please park as close to 34th Street as possible. We want to keep the spots close to the stores open for shoppers, hopefully we can keep a low profile and not become a problem to the businesses in the plaza. Thanks for your help with this!
