Memorial Day Monday is GCC's best picnic at Hart Springs.  Don't forget to RSVP and to bring a side dish such as a salad or desert to complement the mounds of fried chicken tht the Club will provide,  The club will also bring soft drinks.
 
To RSVP, go to the GCC website, http://www.gccfla.org/ and go to the "members area"  and find the  "Memorial Day Picnic" 
 
Hart Springs is on the Suwannee River in Gilchrist County.  It may have canoe and kyyak rentals (sometimes they do, sometimes not) and is an excellent clear springs for swimming.  The Park is only 4 miles from the Nature Coast Rail Trail and there are bike lanes all the way to the Trail from hart.
 
Check on ride group announcements for rides on the Trail.
 
Hart Springs is 45 miles from Gainesville, on the Suwannee River.  Directions:  Go west on State Road 26 (University Avenue, Newberry Road) and go through Newberry and then through Trenton.  Continue west on SR 26 and then turn north (right) at any of several County Roads (CR 313, CR 341 or CR 232) and then west (left) on to CR 344.   There will be road signs directing you to Hart Springs along the way.  Upon reaching Hart Springs, turn into the second entrance (the first entrance is the campground).  GCC has recerved Picnic Pavillions 7 and 8.
