The Saddle Tramps will ride Wednesday,  October 19th, from Powers Park on Hawthorne Road/ Hwy 20, four miles from the intersection of East University and Hawthorne Road.  Our meeting time will be 8:00 a.m. for an on-time 8:15 a.m. departure. 

We'll ride Hawthorne Road or the GH Trail to C.R. 234 to Windsor Boat Ramp, the back roads to Melrose, and loop around for a return to Windsor and return to the Powers Park.  Approximately 42 miles which should take about four hours. 

There are bathrooms at Powers Park, the boat ramp parking lot on Newnans Lake, and there is a convenience store in Melrose at approximately half way.  These roads are very scenic, relatively flat, (for those of you recovering from the "Hills of Tears" ride) and usually have little traffic on them.  The Saddle Tramps generally ride from 12 to 15 mph.  Weather shows a 20% chance of rain that morning, so if things deteriorate, check in to see if the ride is a "go".
