The scheduled Hokey Pokey ride for this Saturday will be changed.   The bridge over Olustee Creek on CR 245 began reconstruction this past Monday.   Thank you to GCC member Royce for information  about the bridge. Unforunately, this is a vital link for our ride.

Instead, let's meet at Oleno State Park for a ride on the paved trail that goes to Ft. White (and beyond).  Let's meet at 8:45 for a 9:00 a.m. ride start on Saturday, Sept 18.  I will chaperone a ride to Ft. White and back , about 18 miles.

Please RSVP to chanbike@xxxxxxx if you intend to come on this ride, so I will know if there is any interest.

The Oleno Paved bike trail goes west to Ft. White and continues to the south entrance of the Itchetucknee and beyond to the town of Branford, at total of 27 miles.

Everyone is welcome is come on this ride (of course, you must wear a bike helmet).  Don't worry about being slow, no one is slower than me and we never leave anyone behind.

The ride will be chaperoned by the ride leader who will ride at the back of the group to make sure no one gets lost.  The ride leader is also a bicycle mechanic who can help fix flat tires and help with any other mechanical problems.

Directions to Oleno Trail:   Go north on US 441, through Alachua and High Springs.  Continue on US 441, Oleno is about 8 miles north of High Springs.  The entrance to Oleno will branch off to the right off of US 441.  The Trail begins right at the big sign at the entrance to Oleno,  park there on the grass.
