URGENT attention is needed by cyclists (and cyclists who drive, and even non-cycling drivers) to this press release regarding County staff's recommendation that Alachua County's Comprehensive Plan be revised to eliminate the requirement for including paved shoulders and bike lanes in future road projects.

CPA-01-16 - A request by County staff to amend Policy 1.6.8 of the Transportation Mobility Element in the County's Comprehensive Plan, to revise the requirements to provide paved shoulders or bicycle lanes when resurfacing roadways with swales. This will allow the County to resurface roadways for potentially lower costs.

Please try to attend this public meeting! Showing up and speaking in person has significant impact. It means A LOT.
