Hi everyone,
Firstly, thank you to those people who recently joined the GCC's challenge team since my last email!
This will be the last email you hear from me on this subject - unless we happen to win the challenge :) With so little time remaining in the challenge, we are behind by about 55,000 points at the time of this email. However, 44,000 of Washington's lead was accumulated in the month of September.
With that said, if you haven't logged your miles in a while, I politely ask you do so before the challenge ends tomorrow at 11:59pm MST. There are many folks who haven't logged in weeks or months, so we'd really appreciate your contribution NOW - that could help tip this contest in the GCC's favor.
You can join the challenge at
http://nationalbikechallenge.org
- Once signed up, affiliate yourself with the Gainesville Cycling Club -
with over 465 members, we are easy to find - please email me directly
if you have any trouble doing that.
To log miles,
there are many options including Manual, or by linking your National
Bike Challenge account to your account with Strava, MapMyRide.com,
Endomondo, etc.
Remember, miles from from May 1, 2015 count! One mile per day = 20 points. Every mile after that is worth one point.
Confirmed at last night's Board Meeting, yours truly will organize a ride and celebratory party to be hosted by the club. The club will subsidize some of the cost of brews for the party - the least we can do if we pull off a three-peat! Details to follow if we win.
Do you really want to see Gainesville with a population of approximately 127,000 people, lose to a team who is based in an area with a population of 9,300,000 people? We can do this!
If you have any questions or comments, please reply directly to this email.
Thanks for reading.
