Hi everyone,

Thank you to everyone who has contributed thus far. While we are marginally behind the leading team from Washington, we could turn that around if more of our 1,000 member base joined in and logged their miles - miles from May 1, 2015 to September 30, 2015 count.

Currently, only 360 members have contributed miles, and many of those members haven't logged miles in a long while.

You can join the challenge at http://nationalbikechallenge.org - Once signed up, affiliate yourself with the Gainesville Cycling Club - with over 450 members, we are easy to find - please email me directly if you have any trouble doing that.

To log miles, there are many options including Manual, or by linking your National Bike Challenge account to your account with Strava, MapMyRide.com, Endomondo, etc.

Remember, miles from from May 1, 2015 count! One mile per day = 20 points. Every mile after that is worth one point.

*ASSUMING WE WIN*

There will be a celebratory party and ride hosted by the club, likely involving one of the local Gainesville breweries!

*ADDITIONAL MOTIVATION*

GCC member Sam Lapeyre (along with Minh Nguyen) completed the recent Paris-Brest-Paris Brevet - 1200 Kilometres - on FIXED GEAR BIKES - within the time limit. That is a huge accomplishment. If these lads can bust out an effort like that, I would hope the club members can sign up for the Mileage Challenge!

If you have any questions or comments, please reply directly to this email.

Thanks for reading.
