Club,
Due to sunlight and personal schedule of the Ride Group Captain (me) Developers teaching rides will occur on an ad hoc basis through the Fall and Winter. If you have friends that are fit and want to learn how to group ride, send them my way (work 225-3585 cell 281-3390) or to David Bello or one of our other group leaders and we can get something together. There are always Haile/Tioga/A/'Rise riders interested in an easy day and some teaching.
We taught a little over thirty riders how to group ride this year, slightly less than last year. This may be due to the rides being smaller since we farmed out our more experienced riders to the short "A" style rides. This was a good thing in the end for safety and fun.
Thanks for another great year of teaching. All of you who helped newbies deserve a big pat on the back, but I want to single out my friend David Bello for going above and beyond, and even leading his own ride now. Watching riders transform over the years from newbies to ride leaders (and club volunteers) keeps me in the saddle.
Rubber Side Down,
James T
