Hi fellow GCC cyclists,

My wife & I rode the G-H trail this morning to find that last night's storm left considerable tree litter on many parts of the path.  Some rotten trees had evidently fallen and may have been removed by park personnel early today, but one tree was blocking the trail at Hawthorn High School--one can go through some tall grass to get around it.  In a few places I saw damaged limbs hanging from trees, not a very safe condition. Be aware that twigs can cause punctures, especially in high pressure road tires (I have experienced that).  Riding the trail required much caution and many turns.

Normally the trail is blown off and cleared on Friday mornings, so I would wait until after that to ride there, unless the park authorities decide to do so earlier.
