This year’s Gainesville Cycling Festival is October 27 & 28. The Orthopaedic Institute Santa Fe Century is on Saturday, and the Horse Farm Hundred is Sunday. We already have a goodly number of riders signed up (including one from Switzerland!).
We are in the process of signing up volunteers. Anyone who volunteers can sign up for a free t-shirt, and many for a free ride in one of the events. Those working a lot can add another shirt, and perhaps another ride. (See details.) Check out the volunteer page on the web site and choose something to do. Reply or call Roger Pierce at 378-7063 to sign up. Wait until you’ve verified your volunteer positions (they will show on the New page of the Members Area) before registering. All volunteers need to register in order to get a shirt ordered.
Make sure that when you register, you do it by clicking the link in the Members Area on the News page. That will save you a few steps and prevent possible entry errors. The best way to register is to pay with a credit card through PayPal (no account is required). Otherwise, you’ll need to mail in a check, and I’ll have to handle it.
Our t-shirts this year are “wicking” polyester. Those of us who got similar shirts at the Ride To Remember wear little else, so we’re giving them a try for the Festival. Please complete your entry by Tuesday, October 16, if you want a shirt; this allows us to have good numbers when we place the order. We will order extra short sleeve shirts in S through XL, but to get a long sleeve, ladies jersey, muscle shirt, or anything in XXL, you must have your order in by the cut off.
