The 60% plans for 16th Ave/23rd Ave. will be discussed at the 5 p.m. session of the Alachua County Commission.    If you want to attend but can't be there at 5 p.m., don't despair.  The commission has one other item that may delay discussion of 16th Ave. until later in the evening.

There is one item ahead of the 16th Ave,  an ordinanace regarding water restrictions.   This item may be short (15 to 20 minutes)  or it may take two or more hours (democracy can be slow and tedious).

you can check on the meeting on the public access channel (channel 12?) on Cox cable. There may be an Internet connection to the meeting.

Most likely, the 60% plan will be accepted with little controversy, but it is always good to show up to provide public support for the plan.

Public meetings are fun,  the air conditioning is nice and cold, and it is a good place to read a good book or do some knitting while waiting for the item in which you are interested.

As always, good behavior is encouraged.  Speak positively about the 16th Ave. project.   Applauding, booing, hissing and negative comments are inappropriate.
