hi ,
GCC members.
We are introducing a new training idea, that is listed in it's entirety in the Events section on member's page. Here is a short tidbit for next Sunday's 1st program
This is a free program being offered to GCC members who would like to improve their overall conditioning level and learn how it applies to your bike riding skills. This is not designed for those riders wanting to be serious racers. This is intended to help you feel more comfortable on longer rides, know how to ride on hills and progress from hokey-pokeys up to the next level if so desired.  The program will be divided into sections that in a perfect world would be followed in a sequential manner, but will still provide results if taken a la carte.
1.       ALACTIC workouts- these are short duration (10sec) sprints that are designed to improve your neuromuscular firing pattern without producing Lactic acid. These are appropriate for beginners who are still trying to develop their aerobic foundation and not yet ready for intense Lactate Threshold (LT) training. It is a great training tool for Mountain Bikers that need to produce a quick burst of speed/power and for Road Riders that need to bridge a gap in pace line quickly. Alactic workout have very little post workout fatigue and will not interfere with training schedules in the same way as hill repeats/intervals or long rides.
