Thank you to all who were able to make it out to the first race at the Rock trail last night.  I was very pleased with the turnout.  I definitely learned a few things last night about organizing the kids races and will make some improvements for the next one.

The general consensus is that people would like to do weekend rides for the kids in addition to the Wednesday night races, especially considering not every kid is interested in racing.  So we’ll resume this Sunday.  I’m changing to time from 2 pm to 6pm due to the fact that it is now very hot in the middle of the day (I sure learned that this past weekend starting a ride at noon on Sunday—ugh!).  I know this can be a bit risky in terms of rain potential during the summer, but temperatures are much more pleasant in the evening which provides for a more enjoyable time for the kids.  (I thought the weather for last night’s ride was perfect!)  Plus this gives the adults time to do a ride in the morning or after church.

I posted the ride on the GCC calendar.  I will keep sending emails for rides until everyone gets used to the calendar.  Just look for rides about every other Sunday on the calendar.  And I’ll put it on the Facebook page too.  And speaking of Facebook page, I was a little frantic last night and didn’t get any pictures so if you took some of the kids race please email it to me.  Thanks!  See you Sunday!
