The Hokey Pokey group will ride in the country east of Alachua on Saturday,    May 26.  Riders should meet at Hague   at 8:15 for an 8:30 ride start.

Along the ride we will stop at the Newnansville Cemetary on County Road 235 and put flags on veterans graves as part of the Memorial Day weekend.

The local VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) suggested this cemetary.  The VFW is placing flags in cemetaries in Gainesville (3600 flags), but cannot do all the cemetaries in the county.

If you would like to bring a few flags, that would be good.  Local CVS's have flags  (4) 4"x6" flags for $2,  (2) 8"x12" flags for $2 or (2) 12"x18" flags for $3.   Lowe's has 12"x18" flags for $1.59 each.  I will check for other sources.

This ride will be on roads with automobile traffic.  The roads are low traffic rural roads.

Everyone is welcome to come on this ride (of course, you must wear a bike helmet).  Don't worry about being slow, no one is slower than me and we never leave anyone behind.

The ride will be chaperoned by the ride leader who will ride at the back of the group to make sure no one gets lost.  The ride leader is also a bicycle mechanic who can help fix flat tires and help with any other mechanical problems.

Directions to Hague:  Go north on US 441, past the intersection with State Road 121.  Five miles north of the SR 121 intersection, take the right fork onto County Road 25A and turn into the picnic area on left.
