Club,

DEVELOPERS is returning to its roots by detaching the faster ride completely as a separate group ride.  Both groups will meet at the same time and place.
I wan't to point out that having taught close to a hundred riders over the last 3.5 years to group ride, we have only had three wrecks.  This is as good a record as any of the more experienced ride groups, so I am inviting some of you to return to this revamped ride format, which separates different skill levels for safety.

DEVELOPERS (ORIGINAL FLAVOR)

Meet 6:00 leave 6:10 p.m. for ~30 mile ride at around 18 mph from parking lot of Bike Works, Tioga Town Center.  This ride is for fit people who want to learn to ride in a group.  Disclaimer: while we meet at the parking lot, this is an OFFICIAL GCC RIDE and is not associated with Bike Works.

I will personally lead this ride and make sure each new rider has a mentor.

The Developers History and Philosophy is here.

TIOGA RIDE (SPICY NUCLEAR HOT)

The separate ride practices intermediate and advanced competitive tactics including chases, time trials, rotations, sprint leadouts, and hound/hare games.  You are expected to fix your own flat, unless it is early and a flat patrol wants to form.  We will not wait up for you during drop portion of the rides, but we still maintain a discipline of not dropping people on corners and stops.  This is modeled on Paul Messal's Sunrise Ride.  It can reach speeds of 25 to 27mph on the fast parts, but generally rides around 21mph.

Inexperienced group riders will be asked to leave this group and ride with the Developers.  Disclaimer: while we meet at the parking lot, this is an OFFICIAL GCC RIDE and is not associated with Bike Works.

Both groups assemble for adult beverages and recounted glorious tales of chase and hilarity afterwords.  Contributions are appreciated.

See you tomorrow.

Developers Ride Captain,

James Thompson
