Join Karelisa and me for a BBN (back by noon) bike ride and a visit to the delightful zucchini festival in Windsor. We will meet Saturday, May 12th in Rochelle on on the trail at 8:45 and ride about 13 miles on the trail then head to the zucchini festival on our bikes. I imagine this ride will be 20-24 miles in length but don't quote me. Be sure to bring a little cash so you can taste tasty zucchini treats including a deep fried version. A mini loaf of their homemade zucchini bread fits perfectly in a water bottle cage! You also may want to bring a lock, we can lock our bikes together at the fest .
To get the the start point head out Hawthorne Rd about 6 miles past town and turn right on CR 2082 (there will be a road sign that says "Rochelle") About one mile down there will be a clearing with parking on the right. Meet us at 8:45; we should be back by noon. Our pace is about 12-13 mph; the terrain for this ride is relatively flat, the road out to Windsor is a bit busy with traffic due to the festival with parked cars on the road narrowing the road.
Let me know if you have any questions and drop me a note if you plan to meet us.
My cell phone # is 352-246-3508. Below is a link detailing the festival's highlights. Remember, wearing a helmet is a must; mirrors come in very handy.
