Meet 6:00 leave 6:10 p.m. for ~30 mile ride at around 18 mph from parking lot of Bike Works, Tioga Town Center.  This ride is for fit people who want to learn to ride in a group.  While we meet at the parking lot, this is an OFFICIAL GCC RIDE and is not associated with Bike Works.

The Developers History and Philosophy is here.
If enough people show the group now splits into two for safety.  The groups may do different courses from one another.

TEACHING/LEARNING GROUP
One group will be led by an Advanced Developer/Haile/A/Sunrise/Chevron ride leader of some experience and loud voice with duties rotating each week--VOLUNTEERS WELCOMED.  Their rule shall be law--so let it be written.  This group is no drop and waits for all flats and shall not exceed the effort limit.  This is the teaching portion of the ride for newbies who are fit.  NO ONE FROM THIS RIDE MAY JOIN THE OTHER ONE.  You will be assigned a mentor and learn signals, etiquette, jargon, and traffic safety.

FASTER GROUP
The second group practices intermediate and advanced competitive tactics including chases, time trials, rotations, sprint leadouts, and hound/hare games.  You are expected to fix your own flat, unless it is early and a flat patrol wants to form.  We will not wait up for you during drop portion of the rides, but we still maintain a discipline TBD each week by the Ride Leader, who may or may not be me.  You must graduate from the first group to ride with the second, or be a known and experienced group rider.

The group assembles for adult beverages and recounted glorious tales of chase and hilarity afterwords.  Contributions are appreciated.

See you tomorrow.

James Thompson
