The Saddle Tramps will ride Wednesday, May 2nd from the Jonesville Steeplechase Publix.  We will ride west on CR26 to NW 170th Street, taking it north to NW 32nd Ave, which we will follow west/north as it turns into NW 46th Ave and "T"s into CR235, which we will take NE to CR232 (NW 78th Ave) then follow that west to US27/41.  We will take 27/41 briefly north to NW 94th Ave which we will take east to CR2054 (Peggy Road) and follow it north then east into Alachua, until it intersects CR 241, which we take back south to the Jonesville Publix, stopping at the BP station at the CR235 fork on the way, for our rest stop.

This is a ~34 mile ride with mostly smooth roads and a few short rolling hills.  Restrooms are available at the Publix and at the restroom/water stop in Alachua.  Meet at 8:15AM for a departure at 8:30AM due to the warm weather at our later morning start times.

Expect level-ground pedaling speeds between 13-15 mph, and an average speed of 12-14 mph.  This is a no-drop friendly ride; nobody needs to stress themselves to keep up with the leader or faster riders, because we will stop and wait for everyone to regroup at each major turn.  Helmets are required.

The Jonesville Steeplechase Publix is located on the west side of town at the intersection of CR 241 and Newberry Road; Newberry Road has bike lanes from Parker Road westward; CR 241 has bike lanes from Newberry Road northward.  If you drive, please park on the southmost (Newberry Rd) side of the parking lot well away from the Publix store entrance.  Water and restrooms are available inside the Publix after 7:00AM.

This ride will be lead by Ed Gardner in the absence of our fearless leader Melinda Koken, who is wandering through southern Georgia popping spokes on her overloaded Surly Truckster.
