All trees have been cleared from the trail with the exception of one extremely large one on the far east side of the back 40. There's a ride-around complements of the guy who mows part of the field. You go left at the yellow arrow and then look for a trail on the right that goes back into the woods and continue the normal trail.
The easement road along the west boundary is now under construction. To maintain good relations with the neighbor we are going to route the trail so it no longer uses this easement road, even when construction is done. In return he is going to help us with some mowing.
What this means is that there is only one exit from the front sinkhole (the "beginner" exit). You can still ride in the sinkhole (after it dries out) but you'll need use this exit.
After the sinkhole continue up the pavement and then follow the dirt road to the back. When you get to the back where the woods are you'll go left (there's currently an arrow) along the tree line. Then take a right into the woods after about 100 yards. You'll do part of the pine tree section backwards (from our old direction) and then continue into the woods. After the 3 mile (or so) woods section you'll take a right (as before) onto the double-track but take a right half-way down. This will take you on a new trail that feeds back into the pine tree section. Then finish out the trail as normal.
It's all marked out with the red/black arrows.
I also put up signs at the front asking people to stay off the trails when they are wet. Hopefully this will keep most environmentally-responsible people from doing further damage to the trails when they are wet.
Finally, thanks to Tim and the Swift Cycle guys who got out there and cleaned up old course tape and garbage.
After the rains settle down the trail should be in good shape. Around September or October I'd like to get some lime rock on some of the eroded sections, and have the trail mowed.
