Sunrise Ride

MEET:  At the Chevron station <http://gccfla.org/ridelocnw.html>  on the corner of NW 43rd St and 53rd Ave.

PARK:  In the Chevron station, along NW 43rd St.
Start at the north end and work south.
Do not park in the slots alongside the station or along NW 53rd Ave.
Please watch where you are standing; do not block the flow of  traffic going to the pumps.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TIME:  Meet at 7:30 AM (DST)
           Ride briefing  at 7:39 AM
           Depart at 7:40 AM...sharp!

***Sunrise is at 7:37, so bring a blinky (there's at least 15 minutes of "Civil Dawn" before the actual sunrise, so don't worry about it being dark. Next Saturday's sun will rise at a very manageable 7:25 so we'll be back to departing at 7:30 sharp once again.
! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE PLAN:    We are continuing to explore a few new routes while we avoid the road construction on 235. This route will be about 30 minutes longer than our normal distance, so pack a Gu or a bar in your pocket. We will ride a clockwise loop leaving the Chevron station and heading West on Millhopper. We'll do our normal route to Alachua, but then we'll go North on 239 instead of 241. We'll hit LaCrosse, then over to Monteocha and back in through Hague, 441 and finally ending on 43rd. I mapped it on 'Map my Ride' for those who are interested:
http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/75415640

THE PACE:   Usual Sunrise rules. Overall Average speed = 19-21 mph, regroup at turns, no speed limit once we hit Millhopper on the way in. (Back to the Chevron by ~10:00am)

THE LOWDOWN:  By getting out earlier, the Sunrise rides offer less traffic, less wind, less precipitation and great company. There are no rest stops, thus maximizing our ride time. Get a 2+ hour ride in and still get home in time to maximize your Saturday.

If you're not currently on the Sunrise rider mailing list and would like to be, go to the members page on the GCC website, navigate to the 'My Riding' box and click the 'Join a Group' button. Hope to see everyone out there.
