Since several of you asked last night, I should give you all an update - and more importantly, encourage you to write.
Steve Lachnicht wrote to public works for me a week ago or so, and I received a response from the County saying that the road is safe and is not a priority. Several new large potholes have emerged that many of us believe need patching, which is a cost-effective means to keep roads safe and serviceable. Darrel had to bunny-hop a new, large pothole before my eyes while approaching the Micanopy sprint.
Today, I replied to the gentleman and all copied recipients describing the newly formed dangers and calling for simple patchwork. For those of you who ride Angle Road (I would refer to it as CR 241 from Rochelle to Micanopy), I hope you write as well. I would keep it to these recipients:
Brian Singleton: bsingleton@alachuacounty.us
Ron Kaylor: rkaylor@alachuacounty.us
Or please call, visit or write any or all of our elected officials on the Board of County Commissioners.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to see the correspondence between the County and myself. Thank you.

ps: And for the record - yes, I did buy one of those reflective vests and attempted to patch the road myself, but I was arrested by the first Sheriff Officer to pass me. He let me go with a stiff warning but then cuffed me moments later because I was drunk on the job.
