Hi everyone, it's time for a week five and a half update!

Presently, we have 238 members on our team, but there is still plenty of opportunity to grow this number.  I urge everyone to politely ask friends, spouses, neighbours, etc, to join GCC's team, and help contribute to our team's lead of the National Mileage Challenge.  Currently, we do not hold a commanding lead over our closest rivals, so let's keep riding, and logging those miles!

Onto the statistics:

1. Number one team in the Nation - Gainesville Cycling Club.

2. 238 riders now registered on the club's team, up 23 from last week.  Let's keep growing the team, spread the word!

3. Two riders in the Top 20 nationally - Brendan White has been sick :(

4. Miles / Kms clocked since May 1 (at 3:00pm EST) - 107,004 Miles / 171,206 Kilometres.

Special Mentions

I am stoked to announce the League of American Bicyclists has offered the President of the GCC (yours truly) a spot on one of their advisory committees; namely the National Bike Challenge Advisory Committee. The committee aims to offer insight on how the program can be improved and grown over the next couple of years - http://bikeleague.org

If you haven't done so already, please sign up for the challenge at https://nationalbikechallenge.org - and hop on board GCC's team.

In Closing

Thank you to everyone who is participating. We need EVERYONE to contribute, no matter how long or short your rides / commutes are.  Every mile / point counts.

Finally, prizes CAN be won by participating.  There were at least FOUR winners from GCC's team during May's drawing!

If you have any questions, please contact me or Rob Robins directly.
