I concur with Barb.  Thanks, Melinda,  for the careful thought that went into planning the routes, for pre-screening restaurants at our destinations (even where there were basically none), watching the weather (then ignoring it and going for it, anyway), and for the laughs.  Great teamwork, ladies!  Looking forward to next year's tour!

Hi Everyone:
Just wanted to let GCC know what a great loaded bike trip Melinda Koken put
together for 4 hardy females Ally Gill, Jane Fowler, Melinda and myself.
Since I had a bad sinus infection and needed to see my md I had to miss the
1st day of the trip from Gainesville to Fanning Springs.
That evening Mike dropped me off along with my bike and gear so I could
catch up with the team.  With the meds I was able to participate in the 2
remaining days riding from Fanning Springs to Stephen Foster State Park in
White Springs and back to Gainesville.  The 1st day the 3 girls rode in the
rain to Fanning Springs.  The next 2 days we had to ride with our loaded
bikes against headwinds.
Not only did we have the headwinds but Jane's rear rim had a crack so
Melinda offered to take the 2 panniers that had Jane's gear in them and Ally
took the bag that sits on top of the rear rack.  I so admire both of you for
taking the extra load so Jane could continue the ride home on her cracked
rim.

Melinda, you are awesome! You did such a great job reserving the cabins,
planning the routes that included Mebane plus all the hills on 241 and
getting us back home safe.

Thanks ladies, great job!!
