The woodsy section of the Archer Braid Trail is blocked in two separate locations by downed trees. The first is about half way between the northeast entrance of the woods and the dirt road that crosses the trail halfway through the woods. It is a smaller tree that an accomplished mountain biker can likely cross without dismounting. The second, located 50 yards past the dirt road, is much bigger and completely obstructs the trail. It also knocked down a second, smaller tree that rests on the trail, under the big tree. This creates an nearly impenetrable tangle of branches, and one can only get around it by going a good ways into the woods.

Other items of interest on my ride on the Braid this afternoon were a car that had knocked down a wooden power pole on the north side of the highway about 1/4 mile before the woods, and a second accident at the little dirt road where you enter the woods. This one left lots of debris on the bike lane on the south side of Archer Road. FHP was giving the driver a sobriety test as I pedaled past. Finally, there was 6 inches of water on the trail for a distance of about 30 yards just before entering the woods.

Oh yeah, I got rained on during my ride back from Archer.
