Dear Cycling Friends,

The League of American Cyclists is coming here for a private review with elected officials and local leadership.  They would like to help Gainesville upgrade its silver star to a gold.  Please take the time to read the following and fill out the survey. They read every comment.  I know many of the League staff personally over the phone, and I promise you they will consider each answer.

Subject: Bicycle Friendly Community Review
To: bfa@bikeleague.org

Good afternoon:

Do you think Gainesville is bike-friendly? What improvements would you like to see? Gainesville recently applied to be recognized as a Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) by the League of American Bicyclists, so as a local bicycling expert you are invited to share your personal feedback. Everyone familiar with this community is eligible to review, except the person who filled out the application and the community’s bike coordinator. If you are not familiar with this community, please disregard this email.

While the BFC application provides a detailed description of what the community has done to become more bicycle-friendly, we need your on-the-ground perspective to enhance the judges’ understanding of whether Gainesville is truly a Bicycle Friendly Community. Your input will be incorporated into the final award decision and detailed feedback report that is provided by the League to every applicant.

Please review the attached application and reviewer guidelines and answer the questions in the following online survey: http://survey.constantcontact.com/survey/a07e91c0yx3hskwii6q/start.

If you would like to learn more about the process and what it means to be a local reviewer, please watch our local reviewer training webinar available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5BqW6UMzp4&feature=youtu.be.

Please note that the attached application document is not a public document and should not be shared with a wider audience. However, we would like to encourage you to share this invitation, the application and reviewer guidelines with other local knowledgeable cyclists who are interested in providing feedback as well. Please make sure to share the exact survey link as provided in this email – once the survey is opened the link changes and cannot be used by other reviewers.

Please provide your input by April 25, 2014. We expect to make the award announcement in mid May.

Thank you again for your help. Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.

Best regards,

The Bicycle Friendly America Team
