Fellow GCC members,

We still need 5 more volunteers to staff this Sunday’s Adopt-A-Road litter cleanup.  Only 3 volunteers have signed up so far.  Ideally, we need about 8 in order to have a smooth, quick cleanup. It would be great to have more GCC members join the Adopt-A-Road Volunteers interest group and commit to doing at least 3 out of 4 events annually.  In the meantime,  we need your help now!

This is one of the four quarterly events our Club does as part of our participation in Keep Alachua County Beautiful’s roadside litter management program through which we help promote GCC while also providing a valuable public service.

We will meet in the parking lot of the Main ST Publix Shopping Center on Sunday, Feb. 17th at 12:45.  The cleanup will commence at 13:00.

We divide up into teams and pick up litter along both sides of N. Main ST, between 8th AVE and 39th AVE.

Safety vests, trash grabbers, and trash bags will be provided. Wear closed-toed shoes and bring your own pair of work gloves.  A hat, sunglasses,  water bottle, and a snack are highly recommended.

Questions?  Call or email me directly.  To sign up, go to the event page on GCC’s website, in the Members Area.

Thanks!
