SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST (SPECIALIST) ($6,182 - $7,690) – NATURAL RESOURCES DIVISION / HEADQUARTERS

The reporting location for this position is Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the general direction of the Environmental Program Manager I.

The Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist) is an important and challenging position serves as the primary headquarters point of contact for vegetation management in the State Park System. This position is the Department’s primary specialist devoted to developing and guiding State Parks vegetation management initiatives and priorities.  Working cooperatively with District and Division natural resources staff, this position will lead updates to the department's inventory and monitoring program for natural resources.  In addition, incumbent will provide technical expertise and assistance, as well as program and project management on all issues related to vegetation management including native and non-native plant species. The position will represent the Department in interagency efforts as well as serve as a primary point of contact with several partner and cooperating non-governmental organizations. Incumbent will also assist in the development and implementation of department policies and guidance for meeting system-wide natural resource goals.
