We are excited to announce an opening for a GS-9/11 Botanist position based out of beautiful Ventura, California! This position closes
on March 23, 2018. We are looking for someone with expertise in plant ecology, technical writing experience, personal initiative, and superlative people skills.
In this position you will provide support in carrying out multi-faceted listing and recovery work for plants within the jurisdiction of the
Ventura Fish and Wildlife Office. Our office works to conserve and protect nearly 100 federally threatened or endangered species across the southern and central California coast in Santa Cruz, San Benito, Monterey, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, portions
of Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo counties, and the northern Channel Islands. 65 of these listed species are plants!
Nestled along the southern California coast between beaches and coastal mountain ranges, the seaside town of Ventura is an outdoor-lovers
paradise. Places like the Los Padres National Forest and Channel Islands National Park are both a short drive or boat ride from town, and Los Angeles International Airport is just a two hour shuttle ride away.
