An invasives job located in Palau. Regional Invasive Species Council Coordinator for Western Pacific Micronesia Region. Unique opportunity for the right person. The pay is not the greatest, but the snorkeling/diving should make up for that, and you would be located in Palau, one of those special jewels in the Pacific.

Greetings RISC Members and Partners,
I attached meeting notes from our Regional Invasive Species Council meeting Nov. 6 - 9. I have edited them for clarification and added red highlights on important decisions and action items. I will be sending out appropriate Regional Biosecurity Plan appendices in Excel spreadsheet format to each of the RISC jurisdictions. We have a deadline of Dec. 15 to look these over, prioritize the top 3 to 5 items that can be accomplished in the next 3 years, and provide any appropriate comments. Return these to me when ready. These will then be compiled as part of our RBP update process. This is in line with what US DOD is also doing on their appendix, and was agreed to at the RISC meeting as part of the way forward on this update process.
I, representing Guam, was elected to serve as RISC Secretary until the Regional Invasive Species Coordinator position can be filled. Please contact me with any comments or corrections, or for any help that I can provide. We want to be prepared for the next Micronesian Island Forum meeting of chief executives in mid-April in Saipan, CNMI.
I wish to extend our gratitude to Dr. Laura Brewington of the East West Center in Hawaii and Phil Andreozzi of USDA- APHIS for help in taking and compiling the meeting notes. If there are any errors or misinterpretations, they are mine, and I would appreciate anyone pointing them out so they can be corrected.
Best wishes to All,
