Job Opportunity – Project Manager/Ecologist
The Irvine Ranch Conservancy is a non-profit, non-advocacy organization with 50 full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees and nearly 400 volunteers. Our mission is to protect, restore, and enhance the natural resources of nearly 50,000 acres of protected open space on the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks in perpetuity, and to provide diverse opportunities for compatible public enjoyment through scientific, recreational, and educational initiatives and programs.
The Conservancy has an opening for a Project Manager/Ecologist to be a part of a mission-based land management and stewardship organization. The person selected for this position will be responsible for providing high-level science-based oversight of land management, programs, projects and contracts. The incumbent will develop budgets, participate in planning, and oversee habitat restoration, invasive plant and pest control, and landscape-level habitat and species monitoring. This multi-faceted position works collaboratively to ensure that projects are implemented successfully and completed on time. Success will require effectively managing multiple projects and programs concurrently, collaboratively establishing and effectively managing priorities and deadlines and working to meet the expectations of partnerships and contract terms.
