Broom should not reproduce from chippings, but take care that there are no seeds. I’d have more concern about ivy.

I'm looking for a good resource to determine if Algerian ivy and Scotch broom would continue to reproduce vegetatively if I were to chip them up and use for pathways/mulch in the same locations from which they were removed?
